Reviews

Check out some of the feedback I’ve had from parents and swimmers during my time as a Swimming Teacher at the Washington Central Hotel in Workington:

“Cannot recommend highly enough she has turned my daughter into a competent swimmer and she loves the water. She has a real passion for her work and it shows. Good luck we will miss you lots”

Tracey

“Marion is a fantastic teacher and we will miss her so much. Our son Billy moved to Marion from another swim school, his ability and confidence has grown so much in a short space of time. Marion is patient, very informative and makes the lessons fun as well. Thank you so much for all your help”

Alison

“Would highly recommend. Marion is an amazing instructor both for myself and my son. I am more confident in the water and happy to go in the deep end after only a few lessons. My son is now very confident in the water both in a pool and lake thanks to Marion. He loves learning with Marion and and he is getting better and better with his techniques and breathing.”

Annette

“Marion has been an absolutely fantastic swimming teacher for my son. We started from scratch after Covid just over 2 years ago when he wouldn’t even dip his face in the water. Now he’s confidently swimming lengths of all types of stroke and loves his lessons. We have been so lucky to have her.”

Learning to Swim

Learning to swim is a valuable life skill and a gateway to a world of physical and mental benefits. Imagine immersing yourself in the cool water of the pool or sea, feeling weightless, and gaining the confidence to navigate the aquatic realm. Here’s a dive into the incredible benefits of learning to swim:

1. Safety First: The most crucial benefit is that swimming equips you with the skills to stay safe in and around water. Knowing how to float, tread water, and execute basic strokes can be lifesaving in unexpected situations. It’s like having a superpower that turns water from a potential danger into a playground.

2. Full-Body Workout: Swimming engages multiple muscle groups simultaneously, providing a fantastic full-body workout. It’s a low-impact exercise that promotes cardiovascular health, strength, and endurance. So, while you’re having a splash, you’re also sculpting your muscles and improving your overall fitness.

3. Stress Buster: The rhythmic nature of swimming, combined with the soothing properties of water, creates a perfect stress relief cocktail. The repetitive strokes and the sensation of floating can calm the mind, reduce anxiety, and leave you with a sense of tranquillity that lingers long after you’ve left the pool.

4. Joint-Friendly Exercise: Unlike some high-impact sports, swimming is gentle on the joints. The buoyancy of water reduces the impact on your bones and joints, making it an ideal exercise for individuals of all ages, especially those with arthritis or other joint concerns.

5. Improved Flexibility and Coordination: Swimming encourages a wide range of motion, promoting flexibility and enhancing coordination. It’s not just about getting from one end of the pool to the other; it’s about mastering the art of movement through water and refining your motor skills.

6. Social Connection: Whether you’re taking swimming lessons, using a public swimming pool, or enjoying the sea on a summer holiday, swimming provides a social outlet. It’s a great way to meet new people, bond with friends and family, and share the joy of being in the water. Plus, swimming can be a lifelong activity that connects generations.

7. Mental Sharpness: The focus and concentration required to swim laps or master different strokes can contribute to improved mental acuity. It’s a workout for both the body and the mind, keeping your cognitive functions sharp and enhancing your ability to stay present in the moment.

So, dive in, make a splash, and unlock the myriad benefits of swimming. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned swimmer, the rewards are as deep as the waters you explore!
